These two subjects interest me a great deal. I ask the indulgence of the moderator, I know this is off topic, but lots of people have opinions and info on these and in seven or eight years of bickering here, while intense at times, noone has ever veered off into name calling or personal attacks. Let this run, if you would, and you can delete it later. It's slow this time of year anyway. The cat thing is one of those impossible problems. I don't profess to have any real answers, and I don't mean to minimize the real aspects of it. But lots of people love cats as much or more as we love birds. Trapping or poioning pets certainly doesn't help our cause, in the bigger picture. War with neighbors has consequences, not all foreseeable. I had a neighbor with a real bird killer of a cat, it would get a dove just about every week feeding on the ground under the feeder. All it took was to trim the bushes up off the ground, and move the feeder 8 feet further out into the open, and it never caught another bird.
