I would say that out of all of my observations of Cooper's Hawks, I've only seen 1-5% with a prey item. I've seen them fail to catch a prey items versus versus successfully capturing prey items. I could infer just from my empirical observations, without actually keeping track of percentages, that they don't capture prey that often. Others would fervently tell me otherwise.

Aside from Cooper's Hawk being a native species, their population is far less dense than domesticated cats. On my block in Miami Shores, there are usually 4-5 house cats outdoors at any given time. The 1-2 Cooper's Hawks that may forage near my house cover a much larger area than any one of those cats.
