I'm the reviewer for the Great Backyard Bird Count (GBBC) for the area from Palm Beach south. I am reviewing a report of a Red-eyed Vireo (REVI) from John D. MacArthur State Park on February 20. As a formality, I sent a generic request for more information. Here's the dilemma, the reply shows me the observer has experience with this species, and even explained why it wasn't a Black-whiskered or Yellow-green. My earliest REVI was on 3/11/05, so this bird would be only 19 days earlier than what I've personally witnessed. Anyone else have any early dates for this species? Could it be that we had a small influx of early REVI into south Florida. Thoughts please.
