Though Murray would be proud of my brevity of words, I should explain my opinion about Red-eyed Vireos. I feel that persons reporting this species should give detailed description of the bird (photo is even better) rather than to explain that he/she has experience, birds have wings, etc. Andy, Alex and Carlos's information was interesting and helpful.
In fall, these guys (vireos, not the above mentioned) accumulate so much fat in their abdomen, above the breast muscle and along their sides, that they sometimes have a tough time getting lift. The photo shows abdominal fat on a Red-eyed Vireo banded in fall. This fat gets them to their wintering grounds in the Amazon.
