The Everglades National Park was not quite as exciting as Roger Hammers report of previous post. Heavy fog didn't lift until 9:40 AM at Mahogany Hammock and then a very dense patch moved in with cold wind and to our surprise we actually saw a "fallout" as warblers and small birds of all types came down just ahead of the dense fog. It looked like what up north would be called a snow squall. There were many warblers flitting allover the entrance boardwalk. Prairie, palm, yellowrumped, and some others that just moved too fast to identify. Then, to our surprise comes this little fella that landed in the cocoplum right by the entrance sign to the boardwalk. It appears to me to be a rose breasted grosbeak. It was not well preened and looked as if it had been in water.
Nevertheless...if my impression is correct this is the first RBGB I have ever seen in ENP.
At Flamingo there were many sparrows around the bathroom facilities by the outdoor movie screen. I'll leave the identification to the experts on those.
