You're probably referring to Blodgett's potato (Solanum donianum), a relative of the potato, tomato, and peppers (Nightshade Family). It's common around Eco Pond. Good to know that botany saved yet another bad birding day!

If you're not familiar with poisonwood, you should probably learn it...SOON!

Too bad about Mrazek Pond, but it can turn into a mud hole at low tide. Sounds like you had a good time nonetheless.
