Starlings

Well, the starlings are established in my woodpecker nestbox. I've cleaned out their nesting materials but those pesky critters are determined. Instead of the Red Ryder B-B Gun I've taken everyones advice and am waiting for the female to lay eggs. My questions, will removing the eggs encourage them to abandon the nestbox?
