Ash-throated Flycatcher

Toe called me yesterday and asked me if I wanted to go to Black Point. I
said, what could we possibly see that we hadn't already caulked up.

He suggested maybe a purple sandpiper, scoters, etc.

I'm sure glad that I decided to go.

We didn't see those, but on the way out we heard a different call and kind of
looked for the bird, but didn't locate the bird. Within a minute or so Toe
spotted a Ash-throated Flycatcher. It was 20 feet from us in the open and it
immediately flew across the canal to a tree on the other side.

We follow and photographed it for about 30 minutes. We were watching the bird
last at the point where the asphalt path turns into a dirt trail.

Because we saw the bird live and pictures don't pick up everything I am
convinced it is an Ash-throated Flycatcher. I hope that someone else makes time
to look for the bird and confirm our observations.

We called Larry Manfredi and Rock and sent them photos. Both thought it may be
an Ash-throated, but didn't want to make a call based just on the photos they
had seen.

Anyway have a blessed Christmas Day. Mine came early!

Hey Paul, life is really good lately...

Trey

I will probably look for the bird again tomorrow.

The photos aren't great, but considering the distance, I'm not going to
complain.
