I happened to look at radar last night, mostly to check if there were any storms coming overnight...but I was almost certain that the local NOAA radar out of Miami was showing bird activity - very heavy light blue cover and moving fast. Glad to hear a confirmation that it was indeed bird activity - I'm completely novice at understanding how radar picks up birds, mostly from reading your site!
