Bees Invade Hummingbird Feeders

I have been using single port small nectar feeders for several years without problem. This morning I went to Cape Florida to look for the Bananaquit without any luck. Quite a few others were there looking also. When I returned home all feeders were completely engulfed by bees. I will shortly get a spray from Home Depot to take care of the bees. They have been living in the Owl house (that is tied to an Avocado tree) in the backyard for at least three years. This is the first time they have caused a problem. The hummingbirds seem to prefer these particuliar feeders to other designs I have. I hope I have not lost my usual hummers due to this problem.
