I have three Firespikes in full bloom plus Cape Honeysuckle vines as well as others. What happened was the swarm of bees became so massive that they were making honeycomb outside the Owl box and were standing in huge swarms all around it. My flower supply did not suffice, so they went for the hummers feeders additionally. I have tried the yellow basket bee guards before and they do not seem to prefer them.
