OK, I never thought I'd do this, but I'm asking for help ID'ing a hawk. Not a Red-shouldered! I didn't have much time this morning, since I had a really busy day, but I at least got out for some much-needed birding. I hoped to find the Vermilions still around, but judging by recent post I guess they are truly gone. The Scissor-taileds and Western Kingbird are still at the same spot where somebody attached them to the wires. There wasn't much in the way of migrant activity at the Annex, but on my way out, I stopped to check out the kettles of vultures overhead and notice what I at first almost dismissed as just another Turkey Vulture, except it was doing large circles like a raptor. The size was similar to a vulture, so I assumed it was a dark-morph Swainson's, but now I'm not too sure. I only took one photo since I hadn't photographed a dork-morph Swainson's before. I wish I had taken more photos, but it was pretty high up. Now I'm thinking it's not a Swainson's. Just doesn't look right. I can definitely rule out Short-tailed. Any ideas?
