I found a young Aratinga in my firebush, eating berries and only a foot off the ground. I walked over and extended my arm and it stepped right on. I figured it was sick or something, but inspection proved that its primaries had been clipped, accounting for its inability to get around. It was probably in that bush for days, getting dehydrated and malnourished. Anyway, I now have a temporary pet parrot and need to find out how long it will take for the primaries to grow out. Anybody know?
