I'd be the first to admit that I'm not very good when it comes to IDing certain Tyrant Flycatchers. Consequently, I took these photos, under sub-optimum conditions i.e. bad lighting and high winds, on Thursday, February 21st in extreme Collier County and so I'm looking for someone to tell me that this bird (all photos are of the same bird) is just an ordinary juvenile Western Kingbird and not a Cassin's Kingbird. What has me confused is that I cannot discern any white along the outer rectrices of the tail but then I can't discern any white tip to the tail either. The upperparts don't look dark enough for Cassin's and the white chin looks too broad for Cassin's. What say others?
