Kurt: Like it or not, you just have to let these little wildlife dramas play out. It's the Darwinian way.
I could understand your railing about a Purple Swamphen or carping about a Grass Carp, but Cooper's Hawks are native, and they belong here. If you're itching to "thin the ranks," you might turn your attention to European Starlings, House Sparrows and Eurasian Collared Doves.
