You may find the "discussion" on this list to be
"more helpful than all of the bird books" that you own, but the advantage of some books (e.g., Robertson and Woolfenden 1992, Stevenson and Anderson 1994) is that they present more than one side to an issue.

This list is so dominated by the opinions of a few listers that you usually only get one viewpoint. And that's never a good thing when there clearly is more than one point of view.
