Good evening Trey,

I appreciate your kind post; thank you.

But another post this evening calling the flamingo "apparent" is yet another rude dig at me, going back several months at least.

I have decided that trying to enlighten certain individuals who are solidly set in their ways (in their opinion, keeping an "open mind" means considering a possible vagrant a definite vagrant, even in the face of uncertainty) is a waste of my time. Contrary to the possible views of some others on this list, I do not post because I enjoy receiving sarcastic attacks simply because my definition of having an open mind means letting go some birds that are potentially too likely to be escapees.

I have decided to refrain from posting to this list as often as I have in the past -- I still shake my head over having to defend my position AGAINST BIRDERS that two singing Vermilion Flycatchers in suburban West Palm Beach during were were likely misisdentifications.

I do agree that the Cutler flamingo is a splendid bird, even if Hialeah is a LOT (as in hundreds of miles) closer than Great Inagua.

But otherwise, like I said, this discussion and many others like it that I have had to endure in the past are a waste of my time.

Best regards,

Bill Pranty
