since i enjoy the back and forth let me say that when i first moved here i never saw an ibis in broward county, same with a wood stork. i would see them on my frequent trips to the west coast of florida. but not here. now i have flocks of ibises in my neighborhood and it is a rare day that i do not see a wood stork. ranges seem to shift very quickly and to see a flamingo in dade county does not seem the least bit odd. to follow up on my earlier post i find that the photos posted here are far better than the photos in the bird books.
in defense of bill i do find that he tries to lend an objective and knowledgeable voice to the postings and he is treated rather rudely on occasion. you all know far more than i do about birds so i will continue to read and learn and enjoy the battle.
