Enough already. They are in Hoechoka Hammock by the hundreds. Everywhere and even taken to feeding on stoppers. It is tough to envision that this critter was almost considered extinct.

So now, who cries for the coontie?

Oh yes; mockingbirds are moving ahead on second nesting. Shrike have done well. Blue jay fledglings are down from last year. Crows and fish crow numbers are less but not a day goes by they one of them isn't seen flying away with a baby bird. And for some unknown reason mourning dove are on the increase, white winged doves have declined and collared doves have disappeared.

And for our photographer friends; no screech owl nest this year and no red-bellied woodpeckers either.

But do come and take pictures of the Atala hairstreaks. Matter of fact, take a few dozen home with you
