Just to add to my theory that our weather is getting warmer, causing species to winter farther north, the forecast for Miami for the next 14 days calls for lows ranging from 65-73 deg, and highs in the low 80s. This means that no cold fronts will reach us in that timeframe. About 80% of the country is expected to experience above average temperatures for December. This year's CBCs will be very important in order to gauge whether this is having an affect on wintering birds in our area. The hyphothesis is that we should be seeing higher than average Caribbean-wintering birds in our area, and lower than average temperate species. We'll see if this plays out.
