I'm not a birder. I saw a bird at the backyard feeder, smaller than a mockingbird, same sort of shape, a bit sleeker perhaps, with a distinct deep-blue almost black head and back and a deep-red almost rust chest. The chest was completely red, no white. The head and back was completely blue/black, with no markings on the wings that I could see. I have never seen this bird before in South Miami. I looked online and in some bird books and the closest birds I could find were the Eastern bluebird or the orchard oriole. But neither was an exact match. The Eastern bluebird's blue is much brighter and the orchard oriole had white markings on its wing. The bird I saw seemed to be about 6 inches long from beak to tail.
