The "default" Palm Warbler subspecies most commonly seen in South Florida in winter is the Western Palm Warbler (Dendroica p. palmarum) whereas the Eastern Palm Warbler (D. p. hypochrysea) is uncommon to rare this far south in the Florida Peninsula in winter.
