I'm not sure if word of this has reached birders on this board, but there's a pelagic trip scheduled out of Ponce Inlet on November 13. Last year's trip around this date produced a lot of good birds, including Great, Cory's, Audubon's, and Manx Shearwaters, Black-capped Petrels, Red Phalaropes, Pomarine and Parasitic Jaegers, and Black Scoter. Other birds seen on November trips include Red-billed Tropicbird and Long-tailed Jaeger. A Sabine's Gull was seen on a recent trip in September. This is probably the best area in Florida to spot a real pelagic rarity, maybe even a Florida first! If anyone's interested, let me know, or contact Mike Brothers directly at mbrothers@CO.VOLUSIA.FL.US
