When I first saw the pictures my initial impression was Greater Ani, not Groove-billed. I cannot find a picture of a Groove-billed with a pale iris or that doesn't have any facial skin touching the eye. The bill also looks very long for an Ani we normally see.
I could not find any mention of this species in Robertson and Woolfenden or in the 1996 copy of Pranty, so this may be the first verified for Florida unless there has been one photographed since the mid-90s.
