Just got back from 3.5 days at Three Lakes Wildlife Management Area. Had thought I might go on to Kissimmee State Park, but there is so much happening at Three Lakes I couldn't see any reason to spend the gas. Only problem is the beautiful Paradise Marina hotel is a bit pricy. Anyone got any ideas where to stay in the area, including any sites that allow tents?
I saw at least six Bald Eagles, and maybe over a dozen (not sure about recounts). I feel like I saw every large bird in Florida, including Turkeys, Limpkins, Spoonbills, White Pelicans, Wood Storks, Sandhill Cranes, Snail Kites and Barred Owls. Passerines of all sorts are abundant at the marina and the WMA, including my first Eastern Bluebird.
I sm curious if anyone can ID what this Bald Eagle is carrying?
