I knew this would bring out the harsh retorts. I simply said I'm not going to count it, not that you shouldn't. No this doesn't mean I can't count birds I look at, urban birds, birds at feeders and birds at sea following boats, as these behaviors are usually not due to the INFLUENCE of CAPTIVITY (as per ABA rules) and the captivity portion is the matter at hand, not interaction with humans. For me (just me now, relax), I am hard pressed to conclude that the bird in question's behavior, returning to the cage top at the rehab center to wait to be fed, is not due to the influence of its captivity. I personally do not believe this bird has regained the activities and movements of a bird which has not been captured (as per ABA rules).
