Hey Rusty,
From now on, you may want to count only birds that don't see you, since that would affect their behavior. Make sure that they are farther than 10 miles from any human activity. This means you cannot count urban birds, birds at feeders, birds at sea following boats, etc.
By the way, are you an expert on Red-footed Booby behavior? Have you taken courses on ethology to come to this conclusion? Just curious, if you did then you're the man!
