Good find on the Swamp Snake. I found a S. Fla. Swamp Snake a few years ago at Shark Valley after a heavy rain, the only Swamp Snake I have ever seen.

The Striped Crayfish Snake I told Hawker about was in ENP on the road to Flaminge, near West Lake. It was in the middle of the road, following a heavy early morning rain. Despite the fact that all the authorities say these snakes are docile, this one struck at me repeatedly as I tried to coax it off the road, biting my shoe and even advancing on me like a cobra. All this aggression made me think twice about picking it up. If anyone wants to see a picture of the crawfish snake in strike mode, contact me off line and I'll send you one.
