We have encountered several injured birds in the past and have called Pelican Harbor Seabird Station a wildlife rehabilitation center at 305-751-9840. 7 Days A Week: 8:00 am to 12:00 pm & 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm, including All Holidays They have always been helpful.

You should definitely seek a licensed wildlife rehabilitator for the best interest of the Limpkin. We recommend calling Florida Wildlife Commission since it is a native bird they will definitely help. This year we have called FWC for injured wildlife we found in three different counties in Florida and they have always helped us with the injured birds. Call FWC at 888-404-3922 they will dispatch someone from the area any day of the week. Website: www.myfwc.com
They recommend that if you find injured wildlife, never attempt to keep it as a pet or to treat that animal yourself. Please update everyone on the injured Limpkin. Good luck.
