A limpkin has been in our yard for five days now. It has an injured foot but it is getting around OK. It is feeding on our garden snail population which we are quite happy about. The limpkin doesn't seem to mind that they are not apple snails. We called wildlife rescue but they want us to subdue the bird before they send the ambulance. We think that would be a bit stressful for the bird. He/she seems fairly healthy except for the foot, so should we just let nature take its course or intervene? It really is cool having a tame limpkin in ones yard! By the way, we live in western Davie.
