Near where I live (Kendall,Miami) I regularly see White Ibis on lawns also (Cattle Egret also come to mind). I even see them in parking lots like the one at Wendy's by my house. They have learned to fight for scraps with gulls, grackles, muscovy ducks etc... Haven't noticed glossy ibis doing the same though. I have never seen them in suburban environments in Miami. Only in marshes that are adjacent to homes, and never on lawns. It would be cool if they did. I am glad that a native species has adapted to our environment. I once read that they used to be called Choloskee Chickens by old-timers in Florida since they tasted like chicken.
