The old time Crackers, who lived a harsh and unforgiving life in the 'Glades were particularly fond of ibis livers.
Besides calling them "Chokoloskee Chickens," they also referred to them as "curlews."
I see them in my yard in Fort Lauderdale feeding in flocks of up to fifty and, in similar sized groups at my work site in Margate. They seem to be most active at this type of foraging right after a soaking rain.
