Some of the interesting birds in W. Kendall were
still present this week at two sites.

Site #1: Black Creek Canal, W of the Kendall-Tamiami Airport
Evidently, you can get there by driving along the S
border of the airport, and then N along the canal.
(I haven't tried this. I just walk from home.)

Up to 6 Scissor-tailed Flycatchers on the E perimeter fence.
A Least Flycatcher, 3 Wilson's Warblers,
and a Yellow Warbler (new this week) were seen
in the trees across the canal near the NW corner
of the airport.

Site #2: Railroad tracks near Krome Ave.
Drive S on Krome from Kendall Dr. for a bit less
than 2 miles, until you get to the C-1W canal.
Turn W along the S side of the canal and park near
the railroad tracks (do not block road). The birds
have been seen within 200 yards N and S of the
canal, along the tracks.

2 Dickcissels, 4 Blue Grosbeaks, 1 Wilson's Warbler,
1 White-crowned Sparrow (immature, new this week),
Indigo and Painted Buntings have all been seen
this week.
