I birded Sadowski briefly this morning with Bill Boeringer in hopes of relocating the Mourning Warbler seen there late yesterday. When I left at 7:45, the Mourning was still a no-show, but Bill stayed and maybe he'll have better luck. The good thing is that there is a lot of ideal Mourning Warbler habitat there. The bad thing is that there is a lot of ideal Mourning Warbler habitat there.
We did find a very cooperative Connecticut in the same area I saw one yesterday, so it's probably the same bird. Today it was out in the open giving us great looks. It's a bright male too! A lot of other amorphous warblers all over the place, and also a Gray-cheeked Thrush.
I sure hope Bill can find the Mourning or something better. If not, he'll have to settle for Connecticut Warbler as his bird for the day. (Ugh!)
