Please be aware that what we may have here is the rare member of the Catharus family known as the Thrush sp, or more commonly called Thrush. This often misidentified bird has a back and wing color that varies from grayish/brown to brown to brownish/red. It can be heavily spotted on the chest to having almost no spotting at all. The eye ring is conspicuous, but it sometimes lacks an eye ring too. It also does the calls of all other Catharus thrushes and is an expert at using shading and light angles to mask its true appearance..
