Birds arriving at Elliot Key and question about trees

Hi all,
Tarpon fishing on the oceanside of Elliot has provided a nice vantage point for birds coming in from the Atlantic. Highlights include a pair of American Bitterns flying high over the ocean and diving for ground cover as soon as they hit the Key. Like Cape Florida, the falcons have been swarming and nighthawks were calling in the Atlantic and arriving mid-morning on Elliot two weeks ago. A few Merlins have headed due East over the Atlantic in the afternoon- I thought this was a bit strange.

A quick question, we just bought a house and would like to plant some trees to give some food and cover for songbirds, any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. I'm at a loss, Oaks?
Thanks,
Juan
