I also have red crowned/winged parakeets.
the colonies are thriving in my neighborhood. let me stress thriving. they even withstood the stlaking of a red shouldered hawk last fall. ( I saw it pluck a monk off the wire). the reds and blues are *new* having settled in w/i the last 6-8 months.
We also have cuban anoles (large bright green lizards w/ a yellow stripe around thr eye) in several of the bigger trees.
Sadly I will be moving from this neighborhood soon and I know I will miss the wildlife most!
BTW does anyone have a parrot/bird book to recommend? everyone I've looked at states that the blues and reds aren't in SFL. ha ha . I have pic to prove they are!
