Good morning Brian,

The FOS Records Committee doesn't delve into such issues; they just review reports and records of species recorded 10 or fewer tines in the state, and usually only if a report or record was submitted directly to the committee.

The last report of breeding in the state, according to the FOS Field Observations Committee, occurred in 2008, but that committee too mostly publishes only those observations submitted to its members.


If I were Nate, I would have used the term "virtually extirpated as a breeding bird."
