Philip and I birded the South Miami-Dade race track farm fields
yesterday and had a few shorebirds present, here is what we saw.
White-rumped Sandpiper about a dozen of them, some in alternate
plumage. The first ones that I have seen here.
Least Sandpiper
Semipalmated Sandpiper
Semi-palmated Plover
Black-bellied Plover
Ruddy Turnstone
Short-billed Dowitchcer 2 these called.
Killdeer
Black-necked Stilt, many with young and many on nests.
White-rumped Sandpiper brings the total number of shorebird species seen
here up to 24, not bad for a few farm fields. I have listed all of the
shorebirds seen here in the last 3 years.
