We have banded in the last week to week and a half several Acadians that have faked us out for Yellow-bellied in the hand. Their colors have been more yellow below (including the throat) and greenish rather than olive on the back. One bird even had blackish wings with more lemony contrasting wingbars than Acadian usually has; Acadian wings seem brown with buff wingbars to me so there is less contrast. The Cape Florida empids have all measured out as Acadians, however, and we have heard Acadians calling at the site on several days, including today. I like that you had the 'big-headed' look (ours all had larger bills than YB) but I personally would be cautious at this particular time to call yellow-bellied without vocalizations.
