No Ani, or anything else at the Cape

Tried for the Ani this morning but dipped. Migrant activity was very slow, with only a couple of the common warbler species and some Red-eyed Vireos. Late yesterday tried Barnes and only had 5 warbler, that's total individuals!

It's mid-September, so where's fall migration? It's beginning to feel like spring. A couple of redstarts and ovenbirds in yards does not constitute a good migration, or even an average one. Typically in fall by this time we have no problem getting double-digit warbler species in one park, plus there's always something else around. Not the case so far this year.

Can't blame it on the weather either. We've had plenty of rain to cause the brids to drop in our area. They just don't seem to be coming through. If somebody is seeing Golden-wings, Nashvilles, Blackburnians, Chestnut-sideds, Tennessees, and Hoodeds in a secret spot, please let me know!
