Today I managed to both count for the NAMC and convince my dad to take me to Cutler Wetlands. In Miami Shores, I managed to find Blackburnian Warbler, and many Bobolinks. I am going to go count Morningside Park soon. An adult Red-tailed Hawk was seen perched along the Dolphin Expressway south of Miami International Airport on my way south to Cutler Ridge.

At Cutler Wetlands finally, my dad dropped me off while he went to do some shopping. For an hour, I was able to wade through the mud and pick up year birds and even a life bird: Buff-breasted Sandpiper. I also had a possible White-rumped Sandpiper.

Semipalmated Plover
Killdeer
Black-necked Stilt
Greater Yellowlegs
Lesser Yellowlegs
Ruddy Turnstone
Red Knot- two juveniles (not basic plumage as reported)
Semipalmated Sandpiper
Western Sandpiper
Least Sandpiper
Pectoral Sandpiper
Stilt Sandpiper- one
Buff-breasted Sandpiper- one; same location as yesterday
Short-billed Dowitchers- called; some other dowitchers had rufous vents (Long-billed? John, Larry, Bill, etc, any comments?)

A FOS female Merlin made an appearance over the wetlands, and chased a peep but failed to grab it.
