I was there yesterday (white eyed vireos everywhere!, two barred owls at culvert 28 posing and calling, four pileated woodpeckers, two downy woodpeckers (one seen and photographed, the second one calling), crested flycatchers, a wonderful flyover by a swallow tailed kite, red shoulder hawks and in the non-feathered group a single deer at Sweetwater Strand, a cotton mouth nice enough to pose for some photos, two otters and a single gray squirrel) Didn't see rangers, nor have I ever been stopped when in the area. By the way, I cannot open the article, even when going through Google; it seems The Miami Herald has pulled it.
