Was this a Ranger from Big Cypress/Everglades NP?
There was one out there quite a number of years ago that got into an awful lot of hot water with the courts over a trespass with weapon and unlawful restraint on one of the private properties in the pineland area on loop road.
There is a history of harassment there.... IF you are harassed I suggest being polite, refusing entrance to your vehicle and requiring proof of the officer's ID.
If it is really an obnoxious situation take a photo of the PHOTO ID card that they must provide using your cell phone or camera and inform the officer that he is working becoming the recipient of a civil rights violation case being filed.
Generally though I've never had an issue and never been stopped. That might be just luck but it might also have to do with my being nice and requesting info about where to photograph this that or the Otter.... ;)
