Birds never made it this far north. Intense storms put down birds south of us. Key West radar paints the picture; birds crossed the straits and were met by high winds and thunderstorms. These birds began to drop out over Key West by 4AM, we figure that some birds could have made it as far as Key Largo but the bulk of the movement was definitely put down over the lower keys.
Winds shift along with the passing of a cold front which is sliding down the peninsula; overcast conditions prove good for diurnal movement which could mean that the afternoon birding may be better.
