It sounds reasonable that location would be a significant factor regarding bird migration. The best locations have long been known as "hot spots." Even if Miami is not a spring migration hot spot in the same sense as Ft.DeSoto or the Key West area, I can recall many enjoyable birding trips here since I started birding in 2006. A.D. Barnes Park was very nice at times during this past Fall migration---and other places as well. The October fallout we had a couple of years back was very special. We have other special birding areas like ENP. As far as the best of spring migration, you have to keep track of places like Ft.DeSoto/Key West and visit when the birding is good--- if you are able.
