I walked the service road and went as far as the house where the Red-headed Woodpecker has been seen. I totalled 2 Prairies, 1 Worm-eating, 1 Parula, and 1 Common Yellowthroat. Also some Catbirds. Heard a Pileated in the distance. I did not look for the Red-headed. I saw an odd martin preening on the wire. It was all black but with white on the wings. I'm guessing some molt or othe plumage issue on a Purple Martin. Or did I just overlook some extreme rarity from South America or the far east? Probably the latter.
I then checked out the east side from the parking lot to the bathroom and totalled 2 Catbirds.
Spring migration is definitely on!
