Just saw a flock of 7 Greater Flamingos fly over our lake in Monaco Cove, at the west end of Miramar Parkway (at 193rd Terrace), at about 7:45 PM this evening. No question about the accuracy of my sighting, as they were almost overhead at about 30 feet. Pink coloration, quite pointed wings with black primaries, extremely long neck and legs, and distinctive large drooping bills.
Are these a local flock of captives, or is it possible that wilc flamingos may be found up here (I am new to Florida)..
Thanks,
Ken
