Barry Heimlich and Fred Griffin joined me this evening to watch for the flamingos at SW 196th Ave just south of Pembroke Road. We were rewarded for our patience at 8:15 PM as it was getting dark, when a flock of four appeared from the northwest over the impoundment. We did not see them become airborne-- they either rose up from the conservation area or came in from the vicinity Pembroke Road and US-27.

They actually veered right overhead to give us great views. Their legs were clean and we saw their knobby "knees." We all agreed that they did not have bands and that all were reddish pink rather uniformly. Barrry took a photo.
