cave swallows

I was looking for the Cave Swallows at the bridge north of 216th St today, but came up empty-handed. Is it too early for the swallows, or have they ceased to breed there? I didn't really see any evidence of (old) nests either. Perhaps I was in the wrong spot? I tried to stick very carefully to Brian's directions in his book. Can anyone out there tell me more about the swallows?
